PRACTICE DESCRIPTION

An IMLA Local Government Fellow since 2012, Mack focuses his practice on advising local government entities on land use, annexation, franchises, economic development, nuisance abatement, interlocal agreements, 1st Amendment, contracts, procurement, real property, platting, ordinance drafting, and open government.

Mack previously worked for eight years at the Arlington City Attorneys’ Office where he advised the City Council, P&Z Commission, staff and boards on legal matters related to land use and development. Mack drafted ordinances relating to PIDs, gas drilling, impact fees, zoning, development code, special events, pedicabs, and rights-of-way. He represented the City in over 100 substandard structure hearings and initiated litigation against a motel and a sexually oriented business while he co-chaired the City of Arlington’s Nuisance Abatement Team.

PROFESSIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

Mack graduated from the University of Oklahoma City Law School, summa cum laude, where he served on the Law Review and received awards in employment law, corporations, and income tax. Mack graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Spanish.
